Joey, dwag, i know is not easy to read sheet music i mean i`ve only been playing drums for like a year and a half, and even though i didn`t know how to read music that well i went home and took a look at my pieces and went over them, over and over untill i figure out how it goes, right now i`m still trying to figure out how to play "Ditty" i`m almost done, i`ve figured out almost the entire piece and i already know how to play over half of it, so trust me, just go over your pieces over and over again untill you get it, if you don`t even know the values of notes, then ask your band teacher to help you get into some music appeciation class to learn about that, other wise your FCKED

They will be held at Covina Recriation Hall; 340 N. Valencia Place, Covina.(obviously)Muisc and training materials will be provided but not the instrument. All instrments are welcome to play. The middle school band will need DRUMS. I`m the first so far. They need at least 2 more DRUMMERS. E-mail me or reply for further information.

Ok look I`m gonna clear this up. I just happend to glance over this site and i saw references to the movie. Look, Drumline is based off Black style marching bands. Now, im from a corp style band but im Black so i tend to watch Black style bands also like on the BET Classic. The thing about Black bands is that they aren`t really conserned from a technical view point from what ive seen. They want to have fun and entertain the crowd as much as possible. I guess some of the bands do watch their technique from what ive seen ,but they are mostly loose and laid back with their style and thats alright to them. I wouldn`t mind either. However, being a drum corp fand also and a corp style marcher, i believe u can have good technique and please the crowd all the same. (like BD and Cavies ) But, it depends on what kind of crowd u have and what they like. And about back sticking....im gonna say the same thing. stick to basic rudiments, learn the right technique, THEN do the funs stuff. But if u deside to have fun, have fun. U don`t have to be up tight all the time, just loosen up. Its ok to break the rules sometimes. Remember, there is not certain "u gotta play it like this!!" way to play drums. Yeah there are rules and regulatoins but its about like language. Ppl just have different view points, and styles and thats ok. (By the way, i was lookin for a picture of a Book report. i wanna make sure im playing it right)

1. `Drumline` music isnt hard at all, this is my first year marching and its easy as *funk*, ESPECIALLY if you check out bd or scv or cavies or someone
2. all stick tricks r is flipin ur stick around to use the otha end to make a diff pitch of tone on the snare head

the trick of backsticking isnt turning it to make a different tone, the trick is flipping it but making it sound exactly the same, the 3-ways, its supposed to sound like triplets, not 3 different noises
