Yeah...
I agree with jdizzle about looking at DCI videos and such. The drumline movie really isn`t that good for stuff other than tricks, and most drumlines don`t do music like that or tricks to that extreme..at least of the ones I`ve seen and I`ve seen a LOT of drumlines.
But another website I can suggest (if it hasn`t already been suggested) is drumlines.org where you can find help from people in drum corp and other places.
I`d also suggest getting private lessons with the snare tech at your school or another competent teacher in your area.

Oh sure, go and delete all the other pages. Can`t they just put the rest of the pages under the first line? Like the number of the page, I mean.

Good point there. Now he was anoying. Oh, and last night, I showed my stuff to an audience on set. It was a talent show but it was fun. Here`s a site that anyone would like:
www.drummerworld.com
It has the best videos of the best jazz and rock drummers.

Hey guys- i have been playing drums for a while now and its great to see people interested n playing. I`m 16 and i mad the snare line at my school as a sophmore.( youngest to do so in school history)I am snare and drumline captain. Any way, for those who want to get better- it takes lots of work but sit down and simply work chops.also work rudiments and diddles with dynamics. You can get music anywhere online and practice it.

Skip the tricks and stick to the fundamentals. Flash may get attention, but technique gets the gigs.

Jeff I agree but once you get the music down you can put in "visuals" thats what my line does, and it seems that some high school judges are just stupid and are amazed by a twirl of a a stick and not hard notes.

Yep, you just gotta get the music down and then throw in whatever kind of stick trick. Anyone know any high schools that have a snare line that can ACCUALLY play good? Not saying that everyone`s high school snare line stinks or anything, just that I want to get into a high school with good standards, music programs, and drummers so I have a challenge. The school that I`m currently with has only me as the drummer for a sorry excuse for a drumline. We don`t even have the money to buy mallet equipment or other percussion stuff! There are quite a few people that I have talked with that have drummed before but now they quit drums. I guess some people are to lazy to sit down with a metronome and work on timing. My dad says he sees a lot of my uncle John (former bandmate and drummer) in me, wanting to throw a stick at the people that had no timing at all. You just gotta go in the woodshed and practice those chops.

Does anyone know how to keep your snares from buzzing when you play? It`s always been a problem for me.

Buzzing snares

Are you talking about a drumset/concert snare, or a marching snare. Two different approaches:
1) Set/concert
- Check that the snares sit at equal distances from the edges of the shell (not off at an angle, not closer to one size or the other - stretched snare cord/straps, etc.)
- Check the tuning of the bottom head; is it in tune with itself?
- Check the relative tuning of the top and bottom heads. Different drum shells, diameters, and depths will require subtle changes in the relationship of top/bottom head tuning
2) Marching
- If your strainer allows individual adjustment of snare tension, be sure that they are similar (none of them are flapping as compared to the others)
- Is the bottom head tuned to itself?
- a small strip of tape 1 - 1.5 inches (masking tape works well, just don`t leave it there forever) from each edge of the of the drum across the snares - as perpendicular as you can get it
Hope this help!
