The best thing you can do when you`re learning to play, is to play 8 notes with you`re right hand, then 8 with your left, and make up any crazy combo you can... it`ll help you get used to the set up and help u know where each drum is.

practice getting around the drum. and playing in the playing areas and keeping your hands flat. prob makes no sense. just check out quad logic by bill bachman. rowloff.com., but it helps when you get into sweeps (crossovers)

If you want good drum music or method books, just look up Bill Bachman. He is a genius at the tenors and percussion in general. I think his tenor book only costs like $15. If that doesn't work search up any high school or college drumline and look at their try out and warm up sheet music. Most sites will let you print their music. If these are too hard then I could probably write you a few small tenor rudimental practice cadences.
