Well as i see it it doesnt matter if Bill Bachman taught you and if you dont know who he is and your a tenor player you should be shot of Jeff Queen or the best player in teh world that says nothing about you and your playing. Throwing names out doesnt do andything. Speek with your playing thats all you need you dont need to say we have the best line bla bla bla cause i could care less when i go to a DCI show and watch a line warm up there not going up to me and saying we have the best line bla bla bla no they are shoving it down my throat with their playing and thats that. Who care if you like DRumline the movie and your a drummer its flashy. I dont sit there and listen to my favorite bands/ movies because what they are doing is technically difficult or looks hard no i could care less. It sounds good or looks cool makes it fun to watch just knowing if it is hard to do makes you simply respect it more. Plus kid your only in the 8th grade you havent seen it all maybey youll end up in a colledge in a drum line that plays just like that stuff in drumline cause you cant afford to pay full tuition so you have to pray for a music scolarship. Why dont you think before you open your mouth like that.

When I was reading this forum, I think I read somewhere that their drumline could take on anybody.

Well, I don`t think "taking on" other drumlines is very smart(trying to keep down all the profanity) because nobody actually wins unless there is a big gap between their skills.

"Taking on" other line is like seeing if "Mary had a little lamb" is better than "Do you know the muffin man".

someguy, i salute you in the mary had a little lamb and do you know the muffin man thingamabobber. i would like to add that any idiot who wants something difficult to play. find websites that have DITTY. if you actually do the sticking it calls for, and get it down for good, you can sound better than any drumline the movie crap.

I THINK THE RHYTHMIC ACCURACY OF ALL THE SNARE LINES IN THE MOVIE "DRUMLINE" WAS HORRIBLE. I ONLY HEARD ONE CLEAN ROLL SEGMENT AND IT WAS WHEN ONE PERSON WAS PLAYING ALONE!!!!!. THE MORRIS BROWN TENOR SOLO DURING THE FINAL DRUMOFF AT WAS A JOKE. I HAVE TAUGHT MIDDLE-SCHOOL TENOR LINES THAT CAN PLAY CLEANER THAN THAT!
IF VISIUALS AND SHAKING YOUR AS* IS YOUR BAG OF CHIPS, THEN YOU SHOULD LOVE THE MOVIE. IF ANY OF YOU AN URGE OBTAIN A HIGHTENED UNDERSTANDING OF A DRUMLINES` TECHNICAL MUSICIANSHIP AND CLARITY.........GO SEE A DRUM CORPS INTERNATIONAL SHOW!

people seriously, before you guys start bashing on the arrogant little people who say that their all that, at least know what you`re talking about. it`s drum CORP not "core". All drummers are arrogant though. Get used to it

Drumline the movie was terrible. I agree with Aaron or whatever his name was. it was a disgrace to the art.

"It should be called "drumming"..."

nice Still it gets people excited about drumming and inpressed. Which is good publicity and a good ego booster. But really, people in generally think drumming is pretty cool already. Not to be arrogant, it`s just the overall consensus. And we, as drummers, take that and run. We really do think, we`re all that...and a block of cheese. Sigh.

props to the drum corp guy as well. thank you for spelling it right (god the first one i saw on this freaking message board. it really does take dedication. Because this year I had so much to do, I had to opt out. Practices are every freaking day. You practice for hours and hours all for one 7-11 minute show (isn`t the liming 11 something -- i don`t know they cut it this year) but it`s hard work. luckily i don`t march so i don`t suffer quite that bad but still, drum corps is some of the best drumming in the world. no. it is the best in the world. if anyone just goes to any one of their shows you would be blown away. i had to watch the BD and SCV perform 5 times before I caught their entire snare solo. It`s amazing. Each section isn`t just drumming and resting like in "drumline". They most likely have their own little performance (to the counts usually) even when they are not playing. Drum corps rocks. Mandarins and SCV all the way.

Hey if you guys don`t get that drumline sheet music down... ask anyone for the sheet music. Most people with any chops at all can write it out for you in a matter of minutes... i`d do it for you but I don`t get sibelius for 3 months. You guys march anywhere? My dad was on staff at cadets for a while so i`m down with the dci thing... hopin to march there next year or crossmen.
