Hey Snare freak, if you have the money, you should audition every year they audition because you never know, and it`s really good for experience.

My fav are The Cavaliers, The Cadets, Blue Devils, SCVanguard, and the Madison Scouts.

The Drum Corp Breakdown    03:33 on Thursday, July 15, 2004

Drum corps rules. I was too lazy and too busy to join this year but I`m cheering on the Mandarins (18th last year at DCI) they have an awesome show.
My breakdown of a few of the corps` shows this year for any one that`s interested:
BD: Pretty original but the color gaurd is faltering as of now. I love the bells with the battery. They have been surpassing SCV so far but....
SCV: Very amazing but their not straying at all from their old shows/tradition. Though the sound is very nice and the color gaurd and formations are very solid.
Cascades: eh, their show is missing the creativity that a corp that big needs. their show seems to barely use their battery
Pacific Crest: Improved but still, their show isn`t top notch yet. they need to improve the sound, and again, originality.
Esperanza: Much, much improvement, impressive for their experience. but still, copy and paste what I said about PC.

That`s basically all that worthy of notice in the west, anyone from any where else in the country want to give so scoop on Phantom, Cavies, Blue Knights, Crusaders (and others)?

My personal favorite: SCV all the way because BD is too arrogant. People put them on too high of a pedestal when SCV is legend. They were the only ones in DCI history to get 99. They hold the highest score in the books. BD does some flashy stuff but SCV is solid. And I think that drum corp is about having a good show and performing at it sticking, and getting your formations right, not quite so much about the cool techniques that make BD infamous. If that was what drum corps is about, what would make it any different from the attitude in "Drumline"?

I am a HUGE DCI fan. I went to the Tour of Champions Show in San Diego! Madison Scouts are my favorite because I think that they have the best overall sound. I am actually listening to the Madison Scouts Maleguena Show of 1996! Awesome stuff! Hope to march esperanza this year!
