Heads are the skins you hit with the drum sticks, You get what you pay for so go with good quality heads and buy some rings to put on them, Rings are a foam rubber ring that attaches to the under side of the head before you install them, this givs the head a muffeled sound and controls resinating of the heads.
Hope this helped.

and as another note those drumsets that I mentioned were out of sarcasm. They are very high quality but way out of most peoples price range. So for all of you who ask what a good beginner drumset is, I say check out that dw pacific. It`s very affordable and if you beef it up the right way you can make almost any drum sound decent, but if your a serious beginner I would try that ludwig accent, or that gretsch blackhawk deal with the cymbals and throne. It also comes with gibralter hardware which is nice and sturdy...

Lesten, all I am saying is that you get what you pay for, They look and sound good with a little tweeking however come back here i 6 -9 monthe and tell us the the wraps are comming un-glued they wont stay in tune, the shells are warping or comming apart, Everything looks nice when its new, You want a set that will last under a lot of abuse, and anything you beat with a stick is abuse. Save up a little more and get a decent kit, Ludwig, Yahama, Pearl, Mapex, Good things come to those that wait!

Nathan, thats a pretty rich lookin set up you have, and some seriously kickin cymbals. If the set itself is a titan though, hopefully its the high quality good stuff. If you are gonna go 4 digits when you shop for a drumset, you might as well get the best bang for the buck. Titans are cool, depending of a few other variables thrown in there(pre use, shipping company, dealer, manuafactured quality...) but my personal suggestion would be to get a really nice set, which is a category way above titans. See if you can find some other offers, because with that kind of money you need to know what you want and what you are really getting and how you will be able to use it to make your type of music. Thats a lot to digest, but hopefully it will help you out. If you cant find anything else, that set still looks pretty darn sweet. Im kind of curious on the picture, so if you can email me the picture of the set, thanx and good luck.

They sound really good especially after replacing the stock single ply Drum Heads with REMO Pin Stripe brand heads. Also knowing exactly how to tune them is a must for any drum to sound good.

TITAN DRUMS -- I believe most of (any instrument) played is based on the experience of the musician him/herself, However, If someone is just starting into the VERY EXPENSIVE world of drumming then naturally it would be appropriate way to go for a beginners kit just become acquainted with the instrument itself. But,I wouldn`t hold my breathe waiting to see Neal Peart playing a set of these at a RUSH concert. One last thing, ( I once seen a guy play a little Fischer Price kids keyboard and he blew me away with the sound he got out of that damn toy) Hope this insight gives a better understand!
