I also really really really want to switch to drumline. I have been playing the sax for almost 6 years. i love the sound of our drumline. i just drool when i hear the cadence. I go to McEachern HS and our indoor perc. kicked some bootay. i bought a drumpad and i practice everyday. i`m going to be a junior this year and i`m gonna take lessons. i practice everyday with music on the net. any have any good sheet music or sheet music sites?

AIM: SaxesRule05 ... but i want to be a snare player! or tenors, but i think snare would be easier

Well I have been playing the Flute since 4th grade. I been from corestyle to showstyle bands. My freshman year I played snare drum in band class, never took it past that. This past January I switched to tenor drum.It is fun because I learned even if a flute is the loudest on the band, the drumline is the band`s backbone.

Anyone know a good kind of lube that can get the flute all slippery and efficient?

Ok, firstly....enough of the sick jokes about flutes! Flautists have copped enough rubbish since American Pie came out, you people as musicians should know better.
Secondly, I understand the point Samanth is making when she says it seems like everyone wants to take up percussion these days.
Before you take up percussion, ask yourself why you`re doing it. Too many people these days are taking up percussion because they want to be `cool` or because they think it is less work than learning tuned instruments such as woodwind, brass or strings. If this is what your thinking, think again. Percussionists have to ve fluent in three staves as well as on a huge range of instruments. We have to take insults from the rest of the band and move 6 times as much as everyone else has to.
Percussion is a lot of work, and only people who are dedicated and skilled are compelled to keep going. So think about what you`re getting into.
