Hey everyone. Anyone got any methods on wrapping sticks? I'm in my high schools indoor drumline, and marching band. It would be awesome if anyone could help me and the line out on how to wrap a two color stick
First of all, you need to know that most people that design marching sticks design them with stick tape weight in mind. So, usually its best to wrap sticks using as little tape as possible. Its best to wrap the tape so that it overlaps just a little bit enough to tell its overlapping but you don't want alot to overlap because it makes the stick too heavy and not what the designer intended. However, if you want to wrap the stick with two colors the best way to do it is to tape each end together by overlapping them side by side so you will hold both rolls in one hand and the stick in the other and tape it at the same time so its like taping it with just a really wide piece of tape and still use as little overlap as possible. This will drastically reduce the weight of the tape compared to if you just taped one color and went back over with another. Good luck on your show!
thanx a load! im like the best wrapper in the band but than one of the tenors pulls this two color trick outta his ass and i had to think of a way to top it since he did a crappy job anyway
