its not all about the snare you know. you do realize that there are tenors and basses out there right? anyway, what would a drumline be without a pit?

Guys...Pit shouldn`t suck...If you are a a school that is well known for its musicall exellence, then pit is a gaining experience...I`m Head snare for Long Beach High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble and with out our Mallets and accesories we wouldnt have anything at all...but in the way of a snare solo book...the Best book (in my opinion) rudimentally that i have read through is "Zigadabuzz"....Once you get through that book...pic up something from Marty Hurley... or Jim Moore...i used to take from Jim Moore through elementary and middle school..I`m 18 now and a senior... He has an AWSOME solo called "Autobahn"....Last Year I was talking with Andy Sanders and he gave me one of his solos "Been Jammin` ".....its pretty intense for the softshoe fan..any questions just email me...

also remember.....Practice doesnt make perfect but its a hell of alot better than not doing a da.. thing.......Practicing gets you close to perfect..i have been playing since i was 5 so thats 13 years....i havent performed a piece Perfectly EVER...always room for improvement.....so if you start goofing around, the next guy is getting better...

umm..i was reading some of your responses on snare solos and such. i have to agree with the person who said snare isn`t everything...every percussive instrument is just as important as the other...wouldn`t it look funny to see a drum line w/out a bassline..lol i know i would be confused...i played "And the Kitchen Sink" for my solo last week, made a 1....that solo is out of "The Rudimental Cookbook" and like sam says..that`s a great book for any snare drummer..advanced or beginner...neways...keep drumming guys/girls....oh yeh.. Tenors all the way babe!!! haha peace

Hey guys, I was reading some of these posts as well. Personally I think snare sucks but thats only because I marched Tenors. But I did audition for snare my sophmore year but decided tenors were cooler. Anyways, its not always about playing the most "badass" stuff. What good is cheeze 5 pattaflam and some oldschool fat 32nd notes when you can`t play them the best you possibly can. If you are looking for Tenor music or some kickin rudiment warmups I have the Cavaliers audition books for Frameworks, 4 Corners, and Spincycle. Frameworks is really fun. Loved that audition and show

Anyways, you can contact me on my AIM: TapAccent05

also, build your chops (forearms) on your "easy" stuff by playing into a pillow. It really helps a lot more than you will think.

oh also...
who ever said
"freshmen snair section leader"
you, obviously have no pride in yourself...because 1 you are lying...how do we know? you cant even spell the name of your own instrument...how sad
