How can any of u say snare sucks, if u dont like playing snare...Why the hell do u play drums. I`ve been playing sence forth grade and im now in ninth. I can`t believe any of u could call yourself a drummer if u think snare sucks. Im in the marching band, im the head of my section, i`ve been stuck playing many percussion instruments in the marching band, but every one was fun. Also for any of u that are trying to make it in to the marching bands in your area, good luck if u hate snare!!!

Hello to all of you snare guys and girls...
By all means, check out my "Rudimental Cookbook" and "Just Desserts" for a ton of snare material from "easy" to "wow" (www.rowloff.com). I also have a new ensemble piece out called "Cuban Concerto". It features a rudimental snare soloist backed up by a concert percussion ensemble in an Afro-Cuban salsa style. There is also a play along performance CD in the event that you don`t have an ensemble handy! And I agree with some of the other guys making refence to playing in a "pit". Be well rounded...learn about all percussion instruments...particularly mallet keyboard! Those experiences will give you the opportunity to learn to arrange and compose melodically and harmonically for full drumline...you never know...one of you may be the next great percussion writer! Good luck to all and keep drumming!
