The stuff may look cool, but sometimes I question whether they`re really good because they do that or if they really suck cause they do that. Nothing is as clean as it should be. Even in the senate (the first thing in the ending credits) you can hear the snares mess up simple, slow, sixteenth notes. Then again, the stuff was pretty cool. Anyone care to comment?

Hey, I am a senior High School drummer planning on marching on a drumline in college also, but even after only 5 years of marching even I can tell what is "clean" and what isn`t and you`re right about the Movie. They seem to mess up quite a bit. lol sometimes I wonder if the parts that they sound together on is even actually them or not.

I`m in out schools winter drumline and i heard that it was all done in slow motion and then put in the movie at `regular speed`. Thats why everything sounds bad. I personally dont like the movie cause half the things they do when they are `training` is totally fake. you could really damage equipment....

its not that the ppl playin the drummers for the senate was bad, its that since nick cannon and the dude that played shawn ( i cant remember his name) had to b able to keep up with the accents for the visual part of it.

dude, I`m a freshman and i can play all that stuff, it isn`t colledge level music. my drumline has harder warmups than that stupid stuff. Nick canon can`t really play drums ( notice camra never show`s his face and drum while he plays ). You can also see how un-even their lines are as they march. It was a movie, that`s all.

Ok, so here it is. I have alot of things to say about why Drumline sucked. First off, the acting, but thats not really the point. First, their bass line didnt even have any smaller bass drums. Also the bass drums had straps instead of harnesses, are any college bands really too poor to afford them, they must hurt. Also towards the begining you see someone playing on quad toms! most college bands have sextoms, which leads me to another point. The snare drummer was over publicized, because it takes so much more skill to play tenors. Also, during the competition at the end, having a famous rapper come on to the feild in an expensive car isnt going to make you win. It doesnt make you a better band. And there were some crazy intervals a monkey would have seen, the kind you could drive a car through. There were also some nasty horn angles. Im also curious to know why the director was conducting instead of the drum majors. If you are going to do that, why have drum majors? If you do that, at least teach olando jones to conduct. Also, story line was LAME!!! Everybody knows that you cant get into any college band without knowing how to read music. Only one complement, their flight of the bumble bee stand tune was very impressive.

Yeah...that movie blew the big one. Maybe it`s because I`m not all that into showbands anyways. They aren`t clean, ever, and there is very little to no techincal difficulty involved, but still. You think that if you were going to release a movie to the entire world that is supposed to accurately depict being in a drumline; you would at the very least get a good one to film and/or record. You know that if this was a movie about a DCI drumline that when it was filmed (slow motion, with actors or not) that everyone involved would have made sure everything was PERFECT. And there is certainly no exageration there. So to quickly summarize this movie; it definately wasn`t made for drummers who know what they are doing.

There`s a reason why they didn`t focus on perfecting the drum lines. One it would have been more expensive to hire all profesionals. two they needed nick cannon to play it. three- people who would notice only make up like 1% of the population.four-they dont give a sh1t. you all need to realize its just a movie

alright, well a musical person with attention to detail would know, it blew, but it served its purpose, entertaining those who just dont get it

im kind of sick of hearing "u just mad cuz..." and "you skin diseased cow" (?) why are you guys bashing each other? so some people dont like the movie and some do. I think it was a good movie, but not realistic. Then again, a realistic movie wouldnt be that interesting

I have seen the movie Drumline many times.. every time I see it, I find more misstakes in the music, and more times where they aren`t actually playing what the sound is. All of the music is easy enough for me to have figured out after haveing heard it once. I went home from the theature and figured out everything I thought was cool. It is all easy, and no where near college level. I play for a college drumline, on the snare line. It is all simply very easy. It is a movie that is not ment for anyone who actually plays drums. Nobody who marches snare drum should look up to that movie.
