Ok...there is this really awesome book that I`m using to learn snare. My private instructor started me on it and then let me go on my own. it has helped alot and goes from the basics all the way through different excerpts that are notorius for their snare parts. They are also pieces thet you will more than likely run accross in the future (probably in college or an honor band). If you send me an e-mail or an IM (drmmrchk) then I would be glad to give you the name. And if you are working through it and don`t understand how to read or play something you can always ask another percussionist in your school band to see if they can help you. If anything there will be someone in band who at the least can help you with difficult rythms. So ya, drop me a line and I`d be glad to help you out.
