Im an incoming freshman to Desert Vista High Scool in Phoenix, AZ. The Marching equipment is all Yamaha, but they are in the process of ordering new equipment from Dynasty. They currently have 2 tenors and 4 basses from dynasty. They are going to order 2 to 3 more tenors, 2 to 3 more basses, and 7 to 9 snares. I`ve heard the Dynasty drums compared to the Yamaha and the Dynasty are 10x better. If your buying marching equipment (you never said what you were going to buy) go all out and order Dynasty.

Pearl is better, we have a full drumline of indoor pearl drums, and we sound really good. although it is yamaha for keyboards, and dynasty are good too for drums

I will go with yamaha, because pearl snares sound to loose yamaha snares sound real real tight and thats how i like my snare.Yamaha 5x10 snares are bad.

Pearl is the shiz. I played on a set of yamaha tenors last year and snaped two lugs. I played Pearl in high school and tune theme thing higher then a yamaha and not snap a lug. Plus they look and sound beater. You can beat the crap out of a pearl and they will still sound good.

i think yamahas are better. my pearl tenors sit kinda lop sided and its really annoying and the rims are all warped and crappy. we only had them for 3 years. my friends yamaha tenors are a lot nicer and hes had them about the same length as me. plus yamaha has all the other quality stuff like my yz250f motocross bike.

OK.......who ever thinks pearl is better doesn`t know JACK CRAP about YAMAHA DRUMS.....For one YAMAHA has MANY more types of drums....like.....
Oak Custom
Recording Custom
Maple Custom
Beech Custom Abs
Birch Custom Abs
Maple Custom Abs
Stage Custom S-lug
Stage Custom Adva
Stage Custom Stnd
YD.......and lets see here...pearl has...Forum,Export,Export Select, session, and last but least masterworks.....i only have one good thing to say about pearl.....the colors of the drumsets are cool.......pepole are always saying you can get better sound out of a pearl set than a YAMAHA....BULL.......out of my drumset and all my friends drumsets you can tune your drums and make them sound however you want it to sound.....NO JOKE.....and no it DOESN`T matter what kind of head you have cause if you have a single ply head you can just add muffling......every musician or music store i`ve gone to i`ve asked which would they prefer.....4 out of 6 stores said YAMAHA...2 said pearl......and i`ve asked other drummers that i know or`ve met....they said YAMAHA is DEFINITELY the best and always will be......F O R E V E R........i REST MY CASE......YAMAHA FOR LIFE!!!!!
