I`m sorry, but he sucks. It`s cool that nearly everyone knows the name of a famous saxophonist, but he really doesn`t know much and sounds horrible. I mean, have you heard him on anything other than soprano sax? On some of his albums he is playing a few other saxophones, but his soprano sounds the same from song to song. He tries to be expressive with his vibrato and tone quality, but fails horribly. If you want to listen to a great saxophonist, try Eugene Rousseau.

Don`t say that somebody sucks. We all have opinions, and some differ from yours. I can see that you are set in what you think, so I won`t argue against you using what I think.

FWIW, all professional saxophonists would agree with me. Professional would include all college professors, most if not all college saxophone majors, and professional saxophonists that have put out books and albums and do much for spreading saxophone knowledge. Kenny G does not fit in that last category.

Every professional sax player, or any other semi-serious musician I have ever met has told me just that. Kenny G is not a good musician, nor does he deserve any credit for the bullsh!t music that he has tried to make. No serious musician would ever seriously listen to his music. Enough said.

Isn`t a professional someone that provides a service for money? Kenny G plays saxophone for money- he`s a professional musician (if you call him a musician). The problem is: he`s not talented. Yes, he is considered a joke by any serious musician, and by most everyone for that matter. I can`t say enough bad things about Kenny G.

I must admit... and I regret it... but I have bought 1 Kenny G cd. It was the first sax cd I ever bought, right when I started playing, and didn`t know any saxophonists. One good this is, though, that it gave me some decent transcription practice.
