How long can you go without practicing and still be able to play reasonably well? I went on vacation and couldn`t take my sax.
Ps I`m talking about days and weeks

well obvously I don`t test to see how long, but from my past experiances with wisdom teeth and long camping trips (1 to 2 weeks? More for the teeth) I caught back on without much a problem at all. So, I guess this didn`t really help.

I once went for a month without playing once. That was many years ago, though, when I wasn`t serious about the sax. The longest time I have gone without playing in the past 2 years is about a week, and I was able to bounce back fine. It takes about 4 practice sessions of 30 minutes. I would play long tones and slow scales for most of it. After that, you`re back on track. That`s in my experiences - it may vary for some people.

I think it also depends on how long you have been playing... cause if you just started, I would think it would be harder to pick back up then if you have been playing consistently for a couple years....
