I heard this from our church choir conductor ( I play the alto sax) that if you don`t breath properly when taking very breaths when out of breath during playing the instrument, your lungs get bad? I want to know if this is true and if so what is the `proper` way of breathing and what bad things happen to your lung if i don`t breath properly

No bad things will happen to your lungs if you don`t breathe properly. I always get yelled at by my band conductors and teachers because i don`t breathe right and i have bad posture. I have excellent lung function, and i easily sound better than any sax player i`ve ever met (except my teacher). Just make sure you don`t breathe really loudly with your shoulders going up and down. Then people look at you funny and wonder what the loud sucking noise was that they heard during the organ solo.

You might get a bad sound, but that is about it.
