I`m curious to know what the best brand of reeds are, or just the reeds you play on (and the size). I`m 14 i`ve been playing for 5 years. Just want to know what you all think.

I use RICO reeds for My alto saxophone. They`re size three reeds.

I use Rico Royal 3 1/2 or Alexander D.C. 3 on alto. There is no one "best reed" but some good quality brands are:
Alexander
Rico Royal
Frederick L. Hemke
Rico Select Jazz
Rico Grand Concert
Vandoren
LaVoz
Peter Ponzol
Of these, the cheapest are the rico royal and lavoz, and the most expensive are the vandoren select, Alexander, and peter ponzol.

I use Vandoren ZZs on all my horns. I am experimenting with V16s as well. Both of these are exemplary. The V16 has a little more wood on the tip and that adds a little life to the reed. If I could just duplicate the tone I get on the ZZs, I would switch to V16s becasue they last longer. I`m working on it, though.
