Sop, Alto, Tenor, or Bari, specify?
What kind of sound are you looking for? What kind of effect do you want your sound to have? What kind of music will you be playing? All these questions come into play when searching for a new mouthpiece/reed/lig. As far as reeds and ligs are concerned, Alexander D.C. reeds and a Consoli Ramplig Dark ligature are the best for jazz. IMHO. I can give you a good mouthpiece suggestion if you post the answers to the above questions. What`s your price range?

What do you mean by "silver or something"? What are you looking for as far as sound goes?

What`s your price range? Are you looking into metal or rubber? ?????
As an alto player myself, i can vouch for otto link, meyer, jodyjazz, and peter ponzol mouthpieces. They are all very high quality pieces and are great for jazz. But they all compliment different types of sounds!!

Well I personally spent about $200 CND on a beautiful Eugene Rousseau Jazz Mouthpiece (Hard Rubber) with a Rovner Dark Ligature and Vandoren ZZ 3 1/2 Reeds for Tenor Saxophone. EXCELLENT sound!

There aren`t many modern alto pieces out there with those characteristics (most of them are built to be paint peelers), but one of the ones that does is the Otto Link Super Tone Master. If you`re willing to get a hard rubber piece like that, then i`d get the Phil Barone Jazz Model.
Why do you want a metal mouthpiece? They`re no more suitable for jazz than rubber mouthpieces. At least 90% of the time, metal mouthpieces do not produce good results at all on alto. Just to give you an idea, all the great alto players i`ve heard play rubber mouthpieces.
