hrmm it shouldnt be that that hard..... if it is... take your reed and hold the tip of it(thinner parrt) againts you mouth piece and lightly like flick it so it vibrates kind of...this will weaken your reed and make it easier to play... i personally dont really like doing this... but it works.

get reed rush and that helps make a hard reed easier to play on, cost about $5 a box

Don`t do anything to intentionally weaken it. Just play it. Force yourself to make sounds out of it `til it hurts, and keep playing. Eventually, you`ll get used to it. Good luck!

Just keep playing on it until it wears down and becomes softer. Or, to make a reed softer, use very fine sand paper and softly and gently sand near the tip and tip sides of the reed.

Take your thumb, while your reed is on the mouthpiece, and press in at the middle of it, a little below the tip, MAKE SURE that you don`t press too hard `cause it`ll break your reed in half. Only do this once or twice.
