So I just bought a Selmer reference 54. It`s a beautiful horn-all around...except for one thing. The horn "warbles" at low C and B. (By warble I mean it tries to jump to an overtone) This is very hard to control once it gets started, and it seems to be hit and miss when it happens. If you are going up a scale or an arpeggio etc. It doesn`t happen. But, if you try to just play a C it freaks out. It also seems to depend on volume, the problem tends to happen more at a mF or F.
Even more odd is that I got one before that had the problem, but it developed after like a week or 2 of playing. Now that i`ve played this one for a week or two...it is doing it as well. I had this new horn checked for leaks and problems and the repair guy found none.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this problem, I would most appriciate it.

P.S sorry if this has been posted before

Well, i`ve been thinking of buying a reference54, and have blown on one, but havn`t experianced your problems. Of course, you said the problem "developed." My best idea (and it`s probably wrong, just what comes to mind) would be along the lines of check the reeds, mouthpieces, have someone else play it, stuff like that.
