Any input on a brand/features of a first soprano sax for a high school student are welcome. What should be sought? What should be avoided? Also any initial tips on playing soprano to be aware of for a beginner? Currently student plays clarinet, but no sax experience. Thanks for the feedback!

First off, does he want a straight or curved sax? Curved ones are better looking I think, but sometimes have worse tuning problems then straight sops, though both take a lot of work to master.
Next, a question for you; are you looking to get him a beginer, intermeidiate, or pro soprano?

SHE is interested in a straight soprano sax. Beginner to intermediate model will be our first purchase...not pro. Any input on starting out with this intrument is appreciated.
