I started playing bari sex when I was about 12, then when I moved where I am now the Junior High here didn`t have a bari for me to play. So now I`m going back to it (im 16 now) and I was wondering if anyone has tips for hitting the low notes like D and the normal G on an older saxophone? There`s 2 bari`s and I have the older of the two, I`d say its about a 20 year old Beuscher. I know I need to open my mouth wide when doing notes like G and D, but is there any tip to being able to hit them multiple times with ease? I also know its good to hold my horn up higher for the G, not sure if thats true.

Drop your jaw and loosen up on your embrochure. That`s always worked for me. Hope this helps.

M.A. gave some good tips. I would also suggest trying to lower your neckstrap and push the bari forward so that it`s more vertical.

This may make me sound like an amature, but I`ve never heard the term "embochure" before. What exactly is that? I know it has something to do with your jaw/mouth position.
