Hi everyone,

I came here looking to see if anyone has a recording of Paul Creston`s Sonata for Eb Alto Sax and Piano available (I only really need the first movement, and 2nd wouldn`t be too bad to have).

I have college music scholarship/entrance auditions coming up in a month, and I have no private teacher, just my old band director who can work with me once a week. I am planning on doing the first movement of this as one of my pieces, and he suggested that I get a reference recording to listen to an interpretation. I`ve found a CD that has it, but with all the costs of being a senior (seriously.. everyone says college fund, but they should add "high school senior fund" too), it would be most beneficial if someone had it recorded so that I could download it as this is the only song I need from the CD.

Thanks in advance, and I can be reached at mastervirtuoso_6015@yahoo.com (I`ll be away from my computer until Sunday, so I won`t have a chance to reply before then)

First I applaud you for playing the Creston Sonata while in high school, it is a very demanding work. I would try your local library first, I found a copy at my schools music library. Not much more I can help you with than that.

Keep Playing
