Hey I Played Alto Sax. Last year and I got a good sound. Now I play Bari and I just can`t figure out how to make a better sound. It sounds like i am trying to play in the bath tub u no a real spitty sound. Then sometimes it plays real quiet and other times real loud and it is like I don`t have any control over how loud it is.
Pleez HELP

make sure your embo-thingy whatever it is (sp haha) is REAl loose, comapred to alto. What strength reeds are you using? Is there a problem with the bari and not you?

I play on tenor but its about same thing.
What #reeds are you using?
Try #2 or 2.5(21/2) or 3

I play bari, and ever since i started my band directors tell me about what a great sound i have, and i started on Van Doren 4s and nopw use Rico Royal 4s, i play about 2 or more hours a day. Im thinking ure embochure is eaither to tight or you are too far out of the mouth piece (common starting mistake) i hope i help!
