Get a high reed, like a 3.5, they are amazing.

get a 3.5 when ur experienced because to me the low notes dont come out as good with 3 or 3.5 and u need to put a lot more air into it. but the high notes come out reall nice with the vanduren reeds.

The real question is what kind of sound do you want? You have a Meyer 6 which has more of a closed facing, so if you want a more airy Jazz sound you are going to have to get a harder reed somewhere around 3.5 to 4. Going any lower in reeds will get you a "reedy" sound which I associate with more of a classical sound. My set up for Alto is a Meyer 7 with 3.5 and Selmer C* with 3`s, tenor is Ottolink 7 with 3.5 and Rousseau 5 with 3`s. I also use normal Vandoren for classical and Vandoren Java for Jazz. I hope this helps more than just throwing numbers at you.
