I`m an alto play3er and I am going to get a soprano. My parents will only by me one for $1200 or less so I can tell if I like playing it or not. I am wondering what are good brands in that price range. I have found on music store so far that has more than three sopranos but they are Antigua Winds. Is this a good brand for a starter soprano? Also, does anyone no of any music stores in the state of Oregon that has a good sax selection?

I guess it depends on what kind it is. I have a advanced alto and it is to die for, but you say you are looking for a beggining. I don`t know my begginner was some peice of crap CONN that was way old. Find out what model they are and go check out the Antiqua winds website and it will tell you more. www.antiguawinds.com easy enough right!

Antiguas, from what I remember from HS, are amazingly good horns for their price. My friend in HS had an Antigua alto that cost maybe 900 and it sounded almost as good as my SX90 which was more than 3 times that.

Mine looks a helluva lot better though =P
