Can someone give me some feedback, the music shop offered me a selmer sax brand new out of the packing or the yamaha yas 23 is on order, they are ordering 10 of them yammy not just one for me, so they say it is ok to go with selmer if I want, any input?

It's a matter of opinion you have to go with what you like and what feels better to you. Both horns are good (Even if they are student), but if you are serious about it, I would consider picking up at least an intermediate horn. Don't let anyone kid what is better or worse, between these two, it all boils down to what feels better and sounds better in your opinion, take a friend and have him/her listen to you too.

As long as they have ears it doesn't matter, ask them what they think sounds better.
