I'm auditioning for a college marching band, i'm going to play Alto Saxophone. Anyone have any ideas of a good tune that I can learn fairly quickly and something that may impress the judges?

Here are the procedures:

-Prepare a single movement froma multi-movement work, or a short piece (five minutes or less)
-Knowledge of major scales
-Sight-reading

I can sight read quite moderately. I know most of my scales. Now I need a tune.

Thank you in advance.

If you need to learn this quickly I would say the Heiden, and Creston are out. They are great pieces but take quite a bit of study. One to look at would be Bozza's Aria, its not technically difficult but requires a great deal of expressive playing. Or even play a fast and slow piece out of a Etude book, most try outs they will want to hear you play examples of both.

Good Luck

Play The Tenor Sax Part For Harry Potter Concert Symphonic Symphany. It's The Complicated Background Music. 9th tuplits and A HELL Of A Lot Of 16 & 32 Notes That Sounds Difficult And Beautyful. Try To Do It A Little Over Tempo.

<Added>

It's The Same Part As Alto.
