Greetings saxaphone friends
I am borrowing a saxaphone from the school and there is a slight (quite big acctually) problem with it.
My G sharp and my C sharp don't work properly. When i press the button G sharp, the stick goes up but the pad doesn't follow it. It sticks to the saxaphone. Same with the C sharp. I gave it to the school for repair and I got it back today. They blamed me that I spilled something sticky on the saxaphone. Or i've been playing with sticky keys (EVEN if i have, I can't slip my fingers in between the opening). But a I did nothing like that.
They didn't do much and when I play the G sharp, I get a G, and if i wait a moment, the G will turn into a G sharp and it sounds really bad in a piece. Anyithing I could do?
Any suggestions or solutions will be greatly appreciated

A quick, yet often effective solution is to take a dollar bill, place it so it's covering the tone hole, and then apply pressure to the top of the key so the pad is pressing down on the dollar bill. Then while the pressure is still applied, pull the dollar bill out from between the hole and the pad. This should clean the pad, and hopefully prevent it from sticking. Best of luck.

Yes a dollar bill does work but I wouldn't advise it, imagine all the oily dirty hands that have touched that and now your putting it on your precious, expensive pads. Use cigarette paper like Lera mentioned or a cheaper way is to just use non inked printer paper, just tear it up.

Good Luck.

I can't find a space wide enough to fit the paper in

If between the keys and the pad you mean in between the pad and the big whole that the pad closes on then no its not bend but the structure doesnt let me slip the paper since my fingers can't successfuly slip it in it ends up scrunching up and yea

For my two-pennorth ('cause I sometimes get the sticky G# thing), I put a (non-glued) fag paper in between the hole and the pad. Even if the pad won't lift using the key, it's often possible just to lift it manually and hold it there whilst you slide the paper in.

I keep a packet of fag papers in each of my cases for this purpose, so I'm never without. They're also useful for wiping off the reed before putting that away too.
