Greetings all. Does anyone know of any software, (whether it be freeware or other) where I can actually add notes to a staff. Reason/Justification: My instructor would sometimes give me periodic jazz licks to take home and practice. Most of the time, I would actually write down the note ie c, b flat, d, f, etc. But what I actually want to do is transpose the lettering to actual notes on a staff. Searching the internet for such a program, but having no luck. Any suggestions??

Thanks

Finale and Sebilius are the top choices but they are very expensive, but they do put out light versions of both that are around $50.
