Groan. This is one my biggest problems. I've had a quite a few dental issues over the years and I seem to have comparatively little strength in my cheek muscles. I do try, but it's bloomin' hard work.

If anyone's got any tips, I'd be grateful.

Kohlert Alto Sax, I started a new topic on Kohlert. I am also a newbie on Alto Sax, and I have tried other beginners Sax, including beginners Yamaha. This Kohlert 450 beats them all. The ribs and keys are made of high quality material, so are the springs. For $400.00, you can't go wrong. I invested in a metal Otto Link mpc, and it works out just fine for me. It is like playing on an expensive Selmer. I highly recommend it.

Pretty cool!!

As to soho's question: make sure you breathe through your mouth (not your nose) while playing. Also remember to keep your fingers curved while playing, as well.

Hope this helps!!
