Good for you! I always do that anyway, go out and buy music books, as im sure many people do, instead of figuring them out. And your right, you just have to keep practicing.

i love it so when people give me supports....hahahaha thx a lot, and remember, it's through this forum i got loads of moral support....by the way.....do you guys play in lounge or cafe there?...you know, live music sort of things...

I don't; I play in state bands and community bands and (of course) the jazz band at school...

cool....my school's sucks, it doesnt have any jazz band....last year i went to JAVA JAZZ FESTIVAL (it's an annual jazz festival in indonesia), and the opening ceremony of the second day was from a British school in jakarta....their jazz band....it's way so cool...if only my school has one....

PLaying by ear is actually not as difficult as it seems.
(I've only been playing saxophone for a year so i'm not as good as i am on my clarinet) But on my Clarinet i can play almost any song i hear and then play it on sax, as many of the notes are similar.
