Hey everyone!!

As you all know, school's starting up again. Back to the same routine of getting up early, learning for 8+ hours, going home to study and do homework, and going to bed just to wake up and do the same thing again. Plus, if your like me, you have other stuff (like peer court, leadership programs, etc)...

Anywho, what music-related things do you guys do during the school year to break this on-going trend??

-symphonic band: a 100 minute block every other day (yay block scheduling) all year long. this of course includes 3 standard concerts plus festival and a spring trip, and grad band is based from symphonic + people from lower bands to make up for no seniors.
-marching band mon/wed/thurs after school til 5, games every 2 or 3 fridays, usually competitions 4 saturdays: through the begining of november
-after marching band ends, the symphony orchestra (if i end up being in it again this year) rehearses wednesday evenings 1.5 hours
-clarinet choir, if we can find ourselves a director (our awesome one moved to NC for grad school) will rehearse once a week. probably starting december/january or something. if we cant find a director, we want to do it anyway without one. we'll see.
-i did pit orchestra this year for the spring musical, which was amazing (and the reason i even come in the sax forum, cause i took up/played bari for that)and very time consuming for a couple months.
-private lessons once i get a hold of a teacher (my lesson teacher was our clarinet choir director who moved)
-i made district band last year, so hopefully i'll make it agian this eyar, and since i was third chair last year, i'm hoping to audition for all state this year (first 2 are eligible, for my instrument)
-george mason honor band was awesome last year, ihope to do it again

wow, when i write it all down it sounds crazy.

-1st block (hour and a half) every day is jazz band (alto)
-4th block every day marching band or symphonic band (depending on the season)(march alto, concert both)
-All state on alto and bari sax in the fall
-multiple honor bands on alto and tenor all year long
-all county in the spring on bari and alto

i do the honor bands on alto and BARI, not tenor! wishful thinking!
