I have decided that i will trade in all 3 of my saxes (2 tenors 1 alto) to get a new Tenor (intonation problems on the tenors, i do not play my alto anymore.)I do not know which one to get but my budget i would say would be around 2500-3300 with the trade ins and what my dad will be willing to pay extra. I am looking for one that has a deep,dark,full tone but is bright and sharp at the same time, and cuts through when i solo. I would not mind going for a used one but it would have to be in good condition.Any good saxes you recommend i will be on the look out for

well, in my opinion try a cannonbal big bell series or heck if u got the money even a yamaha yts 62 series. if ur dad will pay the extra thousand or so, maybe a selmer paris tenor, a reference. but i would seriously recommend the yamaha, worth the cash and sounds beatiful.

well i went to samash today and traded in all my saxes. The guy that was there was nice enough to give me more credit on all of the saxes so my dad only had to pay $999.56 on the sax i got. I got a Yamaha YTS82Z Custom Z Tenor Saxophone used. It was bought in December of 07 and traded in last week for another one ( i forgot what the sales clerk said which one). i Say i got a fairly good deal since the clerk slashed like $300 so it would pay out evenly.

The Yamaha YTS82Z Custom Z plays nicely. I like this one over all of the 3 models i played ( i forgot which ones they were). The altissimo range is awsome and it hardly has alot of tuning problems.I would review it more but i just got it today =P Over all i would say though that it is a great sax. I just need a new Metal mouth piece now because i tried one out while my dad was paying and i liked the sound but i do not know which one.
