I'm really OCD about my saxophone, and about a year ago, when i was a senior in highschool, my sax fell off a chair because we had to leave for a fire drill. I took it to a repair shop but when i got it back it sounded tight and pinched bag pipe like (not like a sax). Now i haven't played in over a year and it's really starting to eat at me but when ever i look at my sax i know it won't play the way it used to, and since it's been so long since i've played i won't remember what it "felt" like to play. Basically I want' my sax back to way it was before it was damaged, but it's been so long i'm afraid i'll never get it back to way it was.
What do all you veterans recommend i do. (This post might not make sense but i'm dumping 12months of guilt into one post without making it into a harry potter book.)
Thanks all

Hey, I'm a tenor sax myself but I understand your problem. Last year my alto died and I had to get it replaced. Try getting it diagnosed for the problem again, that's what I had to do and it might help.

Pity you didn't take it back & complain at the time & get it sorted - most of us repairers would rather that than get a bad reputation. Try talking to the tech or store who did the job, or if you don't trust the original guy get recommendations from other players.
It is unlikely to be a terminal problem & could just be a simple adjustment needed.
