I just recently bought a used Selmer Bundy alto sax and the mouth piece is pretty beaten up and chewed. I'm planning to buy a new one but I don't know where to start. I didn't realize there are different types of mouth pieces, soft to hard and numbers beside it. Can someone tell me what the differences are in terms of playability and timbre. I'm planning to buy a mouth piece on eBay, I don't want to spend over 30.00 on it since I bought the sax for very cheap. Are there any mouth piece brands I should stay away from? I'm also a beginner but I have a bit of experience on the clarinet.
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
