my friend had lend me the alto sax he was using from the school but he's gonna start playing baritone now, anyway I was playing around with it when it came to take out the neck, the screw just fell down. the other half is still stuck inside the receiver thing, what should I do?

you should take it to your local repair person. For someone with experience and the correct tools (a small drill and a left handed screw extractor) this is a simple job. It won't cost very much and they will probably have a new screw to replace the one that is now kaput.
Don't try and fish it out yourself, that coudl result in damaging the sax body. You DON'T want to do that. This is a quicky for a good repair guy.
