Hello all i need help the high d on the scale seems to evade me just seems to screem from time to time other than that getting on pretty well ideas needed to get it right Now playing the tenor.

Those higher notes are difficult to control initially. You might find using a harder reed helps to improve the stability of the notes.

I agree with contra a harder reed will help a lot! If you have a old worn out reed it will be harder to hit the notes. Also I believe if you put in a little more mouth piece in your mouth that might help a little.

I do agree with using a harder reed, it does help but what ive found is if you practice your C major scale slowly focusing on how you play your high C, it will be easier to progress, slowly, to your high D, after you feel you can play high D slowly, progress your speed until you can do it really fast, it took me about two weeks to perfect it(practicing this for 5-10minutes every day that is).
