GO TO http://www.saxshed.com/ AND PRINT YOU SOME OF THE SCALES AND TEACHING AIDS FROM THIS SITE. BUILD YOURSELF A GOOD BASE TO PLAY UPON. IT WILL BE BORING AND SEEM VERY STUPID AT TIMES TRUST ME BEEN THERE DONE THAT. JAZZ IS EXPRESSING WHO YOU ARE THRU YOUR MUSIC. WHEN YOU TAKE A SONG THAT YOU HAVE HEARD PLAYED BY THE GREATS AND MAKE IT YOURS WITH YOUR RIFFS AND SOUNDS YOU GOT JAZZ INSIDE YOUR SOUL FROM THAT POINT ON.

If you can whistle, you can play jazz on the sax. Learn to whistle the standards, and the chord improvisations will become obvious. The rest is just excrutiating hard work.
