Hi everyone ! I am new to this board. I am a clarinet player with my local orchestra for 3 years. (I have been playing the clarinet for 10 years since I was 10.)
Now I want to learn to play the sax too. Someone told me that I cannot start with the soprano as it is difficult to play by a beginner. Is it true that I must start on with the alto ? Please provide suggestion to me, thank you.
Regards

You don`t have to start on alto. You can start on whichever saxophone you want to.

I would start on Tenor because going from lower to higher is easier then going from higher to lower, so with tenor you can learn alto ans soprano easily.

start with alto first trust me. soprano sax is the hardest sax to get used too. i presonally love the tenor and it is my main sax, but i`m glad that i didn`t start on it of moving on to other saxes would have been more difficult to master. gopin fro low to high is very hard and takes a tigher embouchure than what your lips will be used to. basically, go with alto its your best bet.
