Ok I just started to learn how to play the alto this year and is it a good idea to switch for sax in marching season to oboe to concert I normally play the oboe.I just wondered. See Im im the band of the Durand Marching Rail Roaders. WE are a 6 time state champions in michagan. mMy band tescher said I play at high school level in just 1 year.Sorry Im new at this site and I thought you guys might wanted to know a little about me. Well if you answer it would be greatly appecated. Thanks Amanda

You can do that or you can play the cymbals for the drum line. I know a lot of oboe players move to the drum line for marching band because of embouchure reasons...the saxophone is totally different than the oboe and may cause more problems then it would do good.
