Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any tips for producing low notes on a tenor? Im talking C,B,Bb. I cant seem to get them out. Also, would a thinner reed help, like a 1½?
Thanks

no a thinner reed would not solve this problem, in my opinion u should go harder. try blowing hot without the horn. then put the horn in your mouthwhile blowing the hot air*take a breath or you`ll pass out :P*increase the pressure at which the hotair is coming out of your mouth and a decent low sound should be produced.

yOU ARE TRYING TO HARD FOR THE NOTES IT SOUNDS LIKE. LOOSEN YOUR EMBOUCHURE AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENPOUGH OF THE MPC IN YOUR MOUTH. THE LOW NOTES NEED THE FULL EXTENSION OF THE REED ON THE FACING OF THE MPC TO PRODUCE THOSE LOW VIBARATIONS. NUMBER 1 PROBLEM SLOW DOWN YOUR AIR PRESSURE. PICTURE THE EXHAUST ON A FIGHTER JET. THE WAY YOU SEE THE EXHAUST COWL OPENING AND CLOSING TO PRODUCE MORE THRUST. FOR THE LOWER NOTES OPEN THE BACK OF YOUR MOUTH AND THROAT TO ALLOW MORE VOLUMNE AT A LOWER PRESSURE AND THE NOTES WILL COME OUT. JUST TAKES SOME PRACTICE. USE JUST YOUR MPC AND VARY AMOUNT OF MPC AND WIND VOULMNE AND SEE ALL THE DIFFERENT SOUNDS YOU CAN PRODUCE. WHEN YOU PUT IT BACK ON YOUR HORN THIS RELATES TO WHAT YOU WILL HAVE COMING OUT THE HORN. GOOD LUCK
