hello, i have been playing the alto for a time now...for some reason, my high notes aren`t as deep and rich in tone as the lower and medium notes, espicially the high c, d, e, and f, when i play them, they are reealy thin. so it isnt pleasant at all.

thanks

This is a simple problem which is easily fixed. Don`t pinch on your ombechure. Loosen up on their and you can create a nice tone. Also, the lower notes do tend to have a richer sound then the high notes. Also, check your reed see if it is still good

In addition to loosening up, also try thinking of blowing cooler air for higher tones and warmer for the lower tones. Practice blowing on your hand and take note of the shape of you mouth and throat as you change the temperature of the air you`re blowing. Works well for altissimo playing as well.
