I just wanted to let everyone know about this awsome saxophone shop in California. It is in Lancaster, about a 1hr 45min. drive from LA and well worth the trip! It`s called Scimonetti Woodwind and Brass and is run by Jimmy Scimonetti and his dad Jim. Jimmy is an incredible repair man and customiser, with a few patents of his own including the corkless saxophone neck, which totally opens up the saxophone`s sound. What Jimmy can`t do to a saxophone simply isn`t worth doing. He also has great prices on instruments, including the new Cannonball saxes which are awesome. He has just about any mouthpiece you have heard of and a lot you haven`t and a full stock of reeds at great prices. They will take mail orders but I would highly recommend checking out the store. I have been a professional saxophone player for over 10 years and this is the best repair shop and saxophone store I have found yet. I live in LA and happily make the drive to get there.
