I just switched from alto to tenor and i`m wondering what would be good reads. I used 2.5 for my alto and probly will for tenor.

It all depends what you play, 5 is for the high notes more offten, while 1 is geared toward lower octave, this dosent mean you can`t use a 1 reed for high notes but its a lot easier to reach low notes with such a reed and as well as high notes with the 5 level reed, however since tenor does infact jump around in the notes we play, its usually best to use a 2.5 or 3 cut reed (at least thats what I use... mostly)

I`ve been thinking about switching. I was just wondering what made you want to switch and what is the difference between alo and tenor?

I listened to a lot of alto solos and then i started to like the tenor sound more and more.
