I`m not sure how many lbs are in a US Dollar. But beware of alot of the cheap sopranos out there. Alot are somewhat cheap Taiwan or cheaper Chinese horns. Some taiwan horns are good and some very good. The Chinese horns are neither, just plain bad.

Some may come playable but i`ve heard stories of pads falling out, rods falling off, etc.

The cheapest, but one of the best current sopranos out there is one made by Antigua Winds (only their current models are really good). You can get them for around $700 US Dollars.
Check http://www.kesslermusic.com/html/sax/soprano.html

They also sell them on eBay. They also export to other countries. I would call Dave Kessler and talk to him over there (or email). They have excellent service.

I should also add that even though the soprano kinda looks the same as the clarinet that it is a completely different horn. Some fingerings are the same (subset of clarinet) and more intuitive than the clarinet but they are different.

The embouchure is also different and more difficult. The alto sax would also be a good 2nd instrument and much more common in normal band settings. Usually people pick up the soprano sax later on in High School or after that.
