Yes I think Grover was a very serious musician, I had the opportunity to talk music with him at Blues Alley in Wash.DC, just because he played instrumental pop or played music not as challenging as straight ahead does not take away from his musicianship. He did record an album of jazz standards..Hey what kind of mouthpiece does Ralph Moore and Billy Pierce play?

Grover Washington is THE BEST JAZZ SAX ARTIST THERE WAS EVER BEFORE, he wasnt pretty good, he was great. watch your mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
