It is hard for some people and easier for others. It really isn`t a reflection of your skill. My friend, who has been playing longer than I have and who I would say is better than me, can`t get altissimo at all but I can get to the C above high F#. Just practice hitting notes with out the octave key. Get used to the feel of your embrouchure(sp?) and finger the altissimo notes. It took me like 2 months to get the high G out. Start at low C and get and octave up with out the octave key and then just go up a chromatic scale. Just keep practicing overtones. It will also take awhile to get the notes to sound musical.

You can play chords with 1 saxophone listen to Coltrane it is through certain fingering and overblowing some notes. Guys play more than one saxophone as well but thats different see Roland Kirk.
