Im a student looking to make some cash from playing. Im a grade 8 standard alto and soprano player and I am hoping to do some restaurant work, hotels and that sort of thing. How do I go about it...demo tapes, busking? And what should I expect to earn/ask for if someone does book me to play? Im in the UK, if that helps, as rates may be different.

grade 8? As in school grade 8?

Are you part of a band ?? If not, then it will really be hard.

I`m not at all sure but you probably can`t play in any place that serves alcohol at your age.

Try joining a church band. That should open up some contacts.
