why don u guys just write/arrange music for ure bands? then u can make it so every1 gets parts which are hard/easy enough for em. My mate does it for our bands and its rly good cos the music sounds so much better because no ones struggling and the better players can therefore play harder parts so it sounds better

In our school we have proud mary as our fight song(kinda) and its a full band arrangement, but when I went to the Arkansas Tech band camp, My friend bought a book of alto sax music from movies like Harry Potter(hedwig, WIndow 2 the past, phoenix) and the austin Powers theme! I`m only a beginner but I was getting tired of boring old songs, our fight song used to be "When the saints..." yadayada but It was TOO EASY so I learned it by memory and lost every copy the Band director gave me

Young instrumentalists are welcome to request jazz charts from me. They can do so by posting a comment at my blog,

I likely have the jazz sheet music you`re looking for.

hey, since i live in England my advice would probably be no help at all, but i was just wondering in terms of grades what ABRSM grade you would be, as many conducters tend to re-arrange famous or popular theme tunes ect for our bands and we have different bands for different abilities, maybe suggesting a little bit more liveliness to your conducter would help to liven the band and the music!

Ask your teacher for some music! I bet he`d/she`d be more than willing to let you try new things.
I`m a freshman in marching band and the music still isn`t super hard, but try memorizing music that`s more than one page long... That should take up some time!

Just because you play saxophone doesn`t mean that you can`t play other music. If you can`t find any free saxophone music online, try piano. There`s this awesome site - http://words3music.100free.com/ that you can play the voice or piano part, depending on how good you are.
And to the flute player- go to a local music store and pick up "fun with fundamentles". I took lessons and thats the book my teacher had me get. I`ve been playing for 2 years and now I`m as good as any other 4 year.
